National Union of South African Students
South Africa
1979
The National Union of South African Students (NUSAS) was founded in 1924. NUSAS aimed to represent and promote the interests of university and college students. NUSAS was open to students of all races. It campaigned against apartheid and supported the release of Nelson Mandela. The round white button is outlined in two black stripes within which the main text appears. "Qualified to Exploit" appears in the middle of the button above and below the Roman numerals which suggest the year 1979; NUSAS held its 57th anniversary Congress in Durban in November 1979.
