Taken during a sit-in and hunger strike that began on April 17, 1980
Members of Williams Anti-Apartheid Coalition making plans during a sit-in at the Williams College Administration Building that coincided with a Trustee meeting on campus. Stu (Stewart) Massad (wearing glasses) was one of the leaders of Williams Anti-Apartheid Coalition. A schedule of protest events is on the chalk board behind them. The sit-in was part of a campaign to get Williams College to divest from companies doing business in South Africa and from Newmont Mining Corporation which had extensive operations in Namibia.
