Button in support of National Women's Day, which marks the anniversary of the protest march of about 20,000 women to the Union Buildings in Pretoria on August 9, 1956 to protest the pass laws. The white round button has a hand-drawn design of a woman inside the female symbol (a black circle with a black cross below). The woman is holding her right arm high, with a clenched fist. The lettering is around the black circle. Size: 55 mm across.
