Hundreds of students and workers occupied the Old Union at Stanford University in support of four demands to the Stanford University Board of Trustees. 294 protesters were arrested. The sit-in was organized by the Stanford Committee for a Responsible Investment Policy (SCRIP). The four demands were: 1) vote Yes on the Ford Proxy vote, 2) prepare a report on divestment by October 1, 3) abolish the Committee on Investment Responsibility and establish a new commission with real power representative of the entire Stanford community, and 4) have some Trustees meet with SCRIP before dead week.
