One of several shanties built in April 1986 outside College Hall at the University of Pennsylvania as part of a campaign to pressure the Board of Trustees to divest from companies in South Africa. The shanty was named Millersville after the Chairman of the Board Paul F. Miller (a take-off on "Hoovervilles" during the Great Depression). This shanty was likely build by the Penn Anti-Apartheid Coalition. Shanties were built on many other college campuses as part of the divestment movement.
