On October 31, 1987 over 200 students and community members participated in a University of Hawaii Halloween divestment demonstration. On November 21 the University of Hawaii Regent Finance Committee voted for divestment. The person right in the front in a cat costume is Renee Furuyama, chair of the Hawaii Committee for Africa.
