Dennis Brutus of the South African Nonracial Olympic Committee (SAN-ROC) at the United Nations. He was testifying on behalf of SAN-ROC and the International Defence and Aid Fund's World Campaign for the Release of South African Political Prisoners. At the time this photograph was taken, Brutus lived in the United Kingdom. In 1970 he moved to the United States.
