Joe Ridgeway, a unionist, at a picket at the Brooklyn docks of the South African Pioneer, which was carrying goods from South Africa. For two days the dockworkers honored the picket; the ship was unloaded on the third day. The picket was organized by the American Committee on Africa and the Congress of Racial Equality.
