Rev. Markus Kooper of South West Africa (Namibia) at a demonstration for the release of Nelson Mandela and other Rivonia Trial dependents at the South African Consulate in New York. As a result of the trial Nelson Mandela and seven others were sentenced to life imprisonment. Rev. Kooper was a regular petitioner for the independence of South West Africa at the United Nations.
