Togo President Sylvanus Olympio (left) at the office of the American Committee on Africa (ACOA) in New York. ACOA had helped Olympio when he was a petitioner at the United Nations seeking independence for his country. An artist from Harlem is holding a picture he pained of President Olympio. The man on the right was a member of the Togo delegation. President Olympio was in New York to attend the United Nations. President Olympio was assassinated a few months later.
