November 1986
A rally on the campus of Cornell University in November 1986 led by faculty included the symbolic construction of a shanty. The rally and shanty were part of the campaign to get the university to divest from companies investing in South Africa. The rally and building of the shanty was apparently organized by Faculty and Staff Against Apartheid.
