Participants in the Nelson Mandela Run for Freedom held by the Southern Africa Task Force of Houston, Texas on May 21, 1983. Participants contributed to the Task Force - $8 for adults and $5 for children. The flier promoting the 4 mile run said: "Your contribution will assist in purchasing educational materials, providing speakers, and purchase audio-visual materials which will further educate Houstonians about the inhumane and unjust situation in South Africa and Namibia."
