African National Congress
Zambia
1979
The button commemorates the battle of Isandhlwana in January 1879, where 20,000 Zulus warriors under King Cetewayo defeated many British troops. The round button uses the three colors of the African National Congress flag, with a yellow circle in the middle, a green ring surrounding that, and a black ring around the outer edge. A black spear outlined in yellow points across the middle of the button. The button may have been produced in Zambia.
