New York, New York, United States
November 2, 1966
A demonstration was held on November 2, 1966 in front of the Madison and 45th Street Branch of Chase Manhattan Bank, as part of a campaign for withdrawal of accounts from Chase and First National City Bank (later Citibank) because of their direct financial support to the Government of South Africa. People carried placards saying: "Your $$ at Chase Support Apartheid" and "Chase Manhattan Invests Your $$ in Apartheid, Close your Account!" Photo reproduced from South Africa Bulletin.
