Article about the campaign to get George Washington University (GW) to divest from companies doing business in apartheid South Africa. GW invests half of its endowment in a 200-university consortium known as the Common Fund. GW’s President and Vice President met recently with representatives of G.W. Voices for a Free South Africa to discuss investments, after the group organized several rallies. The Rev. Jesse Jackson was going to visit GW soon, and the G.W. Voices group will participate soon in a national anti-apartheid action on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C.
