Leaflet issued as part of a campaign to stop the deportation of Dennis Brutus. Brutus is a poet exiled from South Africa who has lived in the U.S. for 10 years and is now a visiting professor at Amherst College. The leaflet asks people to write to Elliot Abrams, Assistant Sec. for Human Rights at the Department of State, as well as to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and congresspeople, supporting Brutus' request to stay in the U.S. The leaflet mentions the South African Secret Police, Senator Paul Tsongas, political asylum, Mokobung Nkomo, and Attorney Arthur Serota. [Size: 11 x 17 inches. Most likely this leaflet was used as a poster.]
