The document prepared by The Africa Peace Committee for the Africa Peace Tour asks people to write their Representative and Senators and urge support for H.R. 1580 and S. 556, bills for comprehensive sanctions against South Africa, introduced by Congressman Ron Dellums and Senator Alan Cranston. Two other legislative priorities are bills that will stop all U.S. aid to UNITA in Angola and will end weapons shipments to Morocco, Zaire, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, Chad and Liberia. The document says encourage your city, county, state, school, union and church officials to cut all economic ties to South Africa. The document mentions food issues, aid to Africa, the Southern Africa Assistance Fund, boycotts, Coca-Cola, Shell, divestment, the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), Oxfam-America, Oxfam-England, the Eritrea Relief Association, REST-Relief Society of Tigray, the Western Sahara Campaign, Call to Conscience, the Washington Office on Africa (WAO), the American Committee on Africa (ACOA), Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, and Bread for the World.
