Leaflet advertising a rally on September 2 at noon at the Ferry Building outside the office of Senator Pete Wilson to call on him to support sanctions against South Africa. Speakers will include Dr. T.S. Farisani, South African Lutheran minister, imprisoned and tortured by the South African government; Rev. Cecil Williams, Glide Methodist Church; and Joan-Marie Shelley, President, A.F.T. Local 16. The House of Representatives already has passed a bill that would make U.S. companies leave South Africa and virtually end all trade between the U.S. and South Africa. Senator Wilson is on record against apartheid South Africa; he is now in a position to contribute to real change by voting and encouraging support of Senate bill 2756. The rally is sponsored by the San Francisco Anti-Apartheid Committee, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, the Bay Area Free South Africa Movement, the National Lawyers Guild Anti-Apartheid Sub-Committee, Vukani Mawethu, Art Against Apartheid, the National Conference of Black Lawyers, the U.S. Out of Southern Africa Network/APC, and the Free South Africa Labor Committee.
