The minutes say Delores Ellison served as interim secretary for the meeting. The group agreed to accept the codes of conduct, pending adjustment. A motion was made that the conduct and investigation committee be enforced for six months and that they review any member problems that arise and report to ALSC. It was agreed that the committee give the present treasurer the option of resuming her responsibility or vacating her office. The committee will also discuss with Maisha her representation on the steering committee. August tried to schedule meetings with Congressmen Karth, Frenzel, and Fraser. He spoke to an aide to Karth who said Karth would not vote to repeal the Byrd Amendment, arguing that if the U.S. did not purchase chrome from Rhodesia, it would purchase chrome from the USSR, who also purchases chrome from Rhodesia. The committee suggested educational forums for the community, forming a Speakers Bureau of ALSC members, and developing a glossary of terms. A local press conference is to be held March 11 to announce what form African Liberation Day (ALD) will take this year. A committee was volunteered to work on the press conference: Straw, Kojo, Joanne, and Kamu. There will be a week of Solidarity against White Settler Governments. There will be an educational event on March 21, 1974 to commemorate the day of the Sharpeville Massacre and a social and fundraising event on March 31, 1974. It was suggested that the fundraising committee and the educational committee work along with August. August gave lecture on the history of African Liberation Movements. Participants included JoAnne Favors, August Nimtz, Suzanne Roberts, Kojo, Dawolu, Yusef, Cleveland, and Ralph Stafford.
