Theodore Olson; World Peace Brigade
New York, New York, United States
September 26, 1962
A cover letter, World Peace Brigade brochure, an APPLICATION FOR SERVICE, and STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES AND AIMS. The cover letter says recent events in Central and Southern Africa confirm our sense of urgency about this area. The brochure states that the Brigade was asked by leaders of national freedom movements in South and Central Africa to supply training, discipline, and leadership for the struggles of their emerging nations. One Brigade center is now operating in Tanganyika. Volunteers must be experienced in non-violent action. Co-chairmen are Michael Scott, A.J. Muste, and Jayaprakash Narayan. There are three regional councils, in Europe, Asia, and North America.
