The Dennis Brutus Defense Committee (DBDC) has three priorities: letters of support, petitions, and fundraising. Letters urging the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to approve his permanent residence without requiring his departure should be sought from professors, writers, students, and other people from business, professional and other communities. They should be address to the INS Acting Regional Commissioner in Minneapolis but should be sent to the DBDC's attorney for delivery. Petitions are important because they allow more people to register their protest. Fundraising can be done at speaking engagements, events, and by personal contributions.
