In this press release, Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn points to the U.S. Conference of Mayors' long-standing support for economic and political sanctions against South Africa and declares that the President's decision to list sanctions was premature. Flynn says the City of Boston was a leader in withdrawing public funds from institutions doing business with the apartheid government of South Africa. He says mayors across this nation will want to hold the line against South Africa until it is clear that to all Americans that all of the goals of the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act have been met.
