The report says for millions of men and women in neighboring states South Africa's military aggression added the horrors of war to the sufferings imposed by devastating drought; inside South Africa forced removals, rigid influx control, detentions and shootings continued unchecked as the government enforced its policy of apartheid against the black majority. The report says The Africa Fund devoted over $75,000 if its resources to aiding Namibian refugees in Angola escaping the South African army's campaign of terror and Saharouis refugees in Algeria who fled Morocco's occupation of Western Sahara. The report says "For Better Not For Worse", a play by exiled black South African Selaelo Maredi, which was toured by The Africa Fund to over 50 campuses in 20 states, as well as Canada, the Caribbean and Europe. The report discusses Prime Minister Robert Mugabe, South African propaganda in the U.S., the American Committee on Africa (ACOA), archives, The Amistad Research Center, medical supplies, the Algerian Red Crescent, desert tent camps, blazers, trousers, the UAW (United Automobile Workers), Eduardo Mondlane University, Gail Hovey, Jennifer Davis, and James Cason.
