In this mailing seeking contributions to The Africa Fund, the cover letter notes that, while many African countries were achieving self-determination in the decade of the sixties, the white minority governments in Southern Africa were attempting to strengthen their domination over the 30 million Africans in the Portuguese colonies, South Africa, Zimbabwe (Rhodesia), and Namibia (South West Africa). The mailing discusses FRELIMO (Mozambique Liberation Front), the Mozambique Institute, Americo Boavida Hospital, the Bagamoyo Secondary School, and the Tunduru Primary School. It also discusses the Friendship Institute and Solidarity Hospital, MPLA, and the Angolan Medical Assistance Services (S.A.M.). In six countries in colonial Africa, some 30 million Africans continue to struggle to survive and overcome the deprivation of basic human rights.
