The press release says Citibank was urged today to cancel a planned multi-million dollar agreement to head up a new consortium loan to the South African government. The Hon. William H. Booth, president of the American Committee on Africa, and a judge of the N.Y. State Supreme Court, telegrammed Citibank Chairman Walter Wriston urging the bank not to sign the deal with the racist government.
