Brochure advertising a conference that will explore new directions for U.S. policy toward Africa; a re-assessment of this policy is urgently needed. The brochure says that, at the recent session of the U.N. General Assembly, African states lost confidence in the U.S. as a country sincerely devoted to self-determination and independence for colonial territories because of its votes on Algeria, colonialism, Portuguese policy in Africa, and other questions.
