Press release about testimony by Peter Weiss of the American Committee on Africa and Edgar Lockwood of the Washington Office on Africa to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Weiss and Lockwood urged the committee to reject the nomination of Nathaniel P. Davis to the top post on Africa at the State Department. Mr. Davis was U.S. ambassador to Chile from 1971-3 when the CIA was active in the overthrow of the government of President Salvador Allende. The press release says contact Paul Irish.
