Leaflet advertising a Sharpeville memorial program with Donald Crummey (Assoc. Prof. History), Kristin Lems and Tim Vear (singers) and C.U. Coalition Against Apartheid. The leaflet says in 1960, S. African blacks asked for freedom. On March 21, 1960, South African police, at Sharpeville, fired without warning into a group of peaceful protesters. Hundreds were wounded and 70 were killed. The leaflet says black armbands will be distributed. The leaflet also advertises an open meeting on March 13 with an introduction to South African issues and C-U CAA, followed by discussion of recent events and future action.
