This document reports on the attempted assassination of Namibia-based photographer, John Liebenberg, in Katatura, Namibia on May 7, 1989. Liedenberg works with the South African photo collective, Afrapix, which distributes his work in North America through Impact Visuals. This report includes Liedenberg's story in his own words. People are urged to write to the South African Embassy protesting the continuing climate of terror and vigilante violence in Namibia and to the U.S. Department of State asking what is being done to insure the safety of journalists there.
