The newsletter reports that the U.S. vetoed the People's Republic of Angola's request for admission to the United Nations because of the presence of Cuban troops there, despite Angola's being recognized by 112 countries. A special report on the trial of 13 captured British and American mercenaries in Angola says the strongest case is against Tony Callan, the commander of the British mercenaries. Americans on trial included Gary Mark Acher, Daniel Gerhart and Gustavo Mac Grillo.
