The Manifesto on Southern Africa proclaimed by the Fifth Summit Conference of East and Central African States held in April 1969 in Lusaka, Zambia is an appeal to the world's nations to act immediately and effectively against the colonialist and racist regimes of Southern Africa. The manifesto says "[I]n Mozambique, Angola, Rhodesia, South West Africa and the Union of South Africa, there is an open and continued denial of the principles of human equality and nation self-determination."
