Newell Flather; Tarna Bunce; Committee of Returned Volunteers
New York, New York, United States
April 3, 1967
2 pages
The letter says the Africa Working Committee of the Committee of Returned Volunteers is raising the issue of Rhodesia because the right-wing has organized considerable opposition to President Johnson's Executive Order implementing the economic sanctions called for by the UN Security Council. Also the Liberty Lobby has distributed an insidious variety of propaganda in support of the Smith regime. The letter argues that Rhodesia as a foreign policy issue offers unique possibilities for action. [Note: A handwritten note indicates the document was mailed to 600 people.]
