Some members of the Committee on Africa have met with several student groups, including S.D.S., which suggested the possibility of a teach-in at Town Hall in commemoration of the Sharpeville massacre. It was reported at a meeting initiated by someone at the United Nations [Note: probably ES Reddy] that the U.S. has failed to make a promised contribution to a U.N. Trust Fund for families of South African political prisoners. The need for research and self-education was stressed. Future proposed actions include attending a meeting of the Consultative Council on South Africa at the Church Center for the U.N. on January 24.
