2 pages
The Washington Office on Africa is concerned with the struggle for freedom in Africa, particularly with colonialism and apartheid in Southern Africa and how United States policy relates thereto. The Rev. Edgar Lockwood has recently been appointed its director. Father Lockwood and his assistant, Ms. Christine Root, keep close tabs on the doings of the U .S. government and the Congress. Herewith are portions of a tally on votes by members of Congress from Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York on legislation concerning Southern Africa - South African sugar quota, Rhodesian chrome sanctions (Byrd Amendment), and Azores Agreement.
