This document reports that General Electric has applied to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for permission to export two nuclear reactors to South Africa. The document says, "This confirmed rumors that the South African Government had given G.E. (and its Swiss and Dutch consortium partners) the contract to build South Africa's first nuclear power station." The first station is Koeberg A. [Note on date: The construction of Koeberg began in 1976. This document was issued prior to the beginning of construction.]
