Resolution adopted by the City of Berkeley stating the city will not do business with Royal Dutch/Shell and the Shell Oil Company until Royal Dutch/Shell completely withdraws from South Africa. The resolution also states that the City of Berkeley is Shell-Free until that time when Royal Dutch/Shell disinvests from South Africa. The resolution was introduced by Council Member Maudelle M. Shirek and Council Member Nancy Skinner and it was passed on December 13, 1988. The National Labor Boycott Shell Committee sought to get cities across the United States to pass such resolutions.
