Memorandum cites opposition to IMF lending to South African from legislators in several countries. CIP had been laying the groundwork for several years for a campaign focused on the U.S. Congress to be organized on the occasion of the U.S. administration seeking authorization for an increase in the U.S. quota to the IMF, which occurs only every three-to-five years. This memo contains brief reports from Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Canada and announces an international meeting on the subject to be held on April 30.
