This mailing reports that on May 1 the House Banking Committee voted to cut off Eximbank financing for South Africa until the President determines there has been significant progress toward the elimination of apartheid. More political work is needed, including calls, telegrams and visits to members of the House and Senate. The mailing also asks for contributions toward this campaign and that copies the pamphlet "STOP Exim Financing of Apartheid" and a legislative update are available. The mailing includes an excerpt from a letter to Senators sent by Donald E. deKieffer, a registered agent of the Department of Information of South Africa, attacking the Washington Office on Africa.
