Bank Campaign leaflet quotes from a resolution of the thirteenth Constitutional convention of the AFL-CIO in November 1979 saying: "the AFL-CIO urges its affiliates to consider severing ties with banks which do business in South Africa." The Campaign urged all account holders to withdraw their funds from the Riggs National Bank and specifically asked for support for this call from trade unionist to support.
