Brooklynites Against Apartheid
Brooklyn, New York, United States
Undated, mid-1985?
2 pages
Leaflet opposing the showing of the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" at the Brooklyn Heights Cinema. The film was made by a white South African filmmaker and was seen by Brooklynites Against Apartheid as a "sophisticated piece of pro-Apartheid propaganda." The leaflet discusses past action against the movie and provides a critical review. The leaflet urges people to tell the manager that they will not be going to the Brooklyn Heights Cinema until the film is gone. The leaflet mentions the State of Emergency which was declared in late July 1985 so must have been issued after that date.
