Review of where South Africa stood on meeting the conditions for the termination, suspension or medication of sanctions imposed by the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986. Conditions include the release of political prisoners, the repeal of the state of emergency and release of all detainees held under the state of emergency, unbanning of political parties, repeal of the Group Areas Act of the Population Registration Act, agrees to enter into god faith negotiations, and making substantial progress toward dismantling of the system of apartheid and establishing a nonracial democracy.
