SINNING IN SUN CITY is set in Sun City, the infamous gambling and resort city located in Bophuthatswana, one of South Africa's "Homelands." In 1980, the United Nations enacted a cultural boycott of Sun City and of all artistic and entertainment activities in South Africa by artists from other nations. The boycott is still in effect, and the Organization for African Unity (OAU) has recommended that its members not issue visas to performers or other artists who break the boycott.
