ACAS is in a tight financial situation, and more members are needed during October to bring in funds for the November Newsletter and activities at the African Studies Association (ASA) meeting in New Orleans. ACAS co-chairs Willard Johnsen and Immanuel Wallerstein are drafting a letter to be sent to potential members; Board members are asked to each supply ten names and addresses to receive the letter.
