Mailing inviting people to Davis House in Washington, DC on May 9, 1984 to hear Madjid Abdullah, Polisario Representative to the UN, and Tony Hughes, journalist recently returned from Western Sahara. The Sahrawi people led by the Polisario Front are engaged in a struggle for self-determination and independence; their occupier is a neighboring African nation, Morocco, which is heavily armed by the United States. Hughes will autograph copies of his just released book, Western Sahara: Roots of the Desert War. Over 100,000 Sahrawi women and children have been forced to flee to Algeria to escape Moroccan air attacks, and they are in need of medical and other forms of humanitarian assistance.
