Letter to Dr. William Minter from Damu Smith, Executive Director and Imani Countess, Project Coordinator of the Washington Office on Africa (WOA). The letter says thank you again for participating on the Planning Committee of the First Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Symposium on Southern Africa. The letter says as you know, the event was a tremendous success; over 1,500 activists from the D.C. metropolitan community and across the United States attended the three day event'; all participants left with a new understanding of the reg ion al impact of apartheid and a deepened commitment to further build and develop the U.S. anti-apartheid movement. The letter says as a member of the Planning Committee in the symposium you contributed to this process of education and re-commitment to struggle; for that we thank you as do all those who benefited from your teachings. The letter says we are in the production process of a report on the symposium. We will send you a copy; we will also be producing video and audio tapes of the proceedings; both products will be available within the next two months; finally, in the near future we will begin planning for the Second Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Symposium on Southern Africa.
