The release of Nelson Mandela is an historic step in the struggle for freedom in South Africa. The African National Congress has also been legalized. But these are only first steps. This funding appeal asks for continued support of TransAfrica, which has helped energize world opinion and bring about the sanctions needed to move the South African regime. Heavily financed, right-wing lobbying of Congress is already attempting to lift current sanctions. TransAfrica has launched the Final Road To Freedom Fund for a new chapter in its work.
