The Forum will bring together members of Congress, business, professional, religious and civil rights leaders, and White House staff. The South African delegation will include Archbishop Desmond Tutu; the Rev. Frank Chikane, General Secretary of South Africa Council of Churches; and Rev. Beyers Naude, former General Secretary of South Africa Council of Churches. The Forum will expose the massive detention, torture, killings and other crimes against people in South Africa. The Forum will receive wide-ranging publicity, overcoming the South African government's news black-out and energizing Americans to demand far tougher actions against government of South Africa. At the conclusion of forum, Randall Robinson, Archbishop Tutu, Boesak, and other leaders will travel to the White House to meet with President Bush and urge him to support passage of Anti-Apartheid Act of 1989. This will also put pressure on leaders of Great Britain, West Germany and France to impose tougher economic sanctions.
