Leaflet advertising an event on September 27 with Mosibudi Mangena, International Chairman of Black Consciousness Movement of Azania, and Chokwe Lumumba, Chairman of New Afrikan People's Organization, which fights for human rights and national liberation for the colonized Black Nation in the U.S. Mangena is a long-time co-worker of Steven Biko, who the South African government murdered on September 12, 1977. Mangena will report on the Black revolution inside South Africa, on the eighth anniversary of Biko's murder. Black people across the U.S. are sparking a movement in solidarity with their sisters and brothers in South Africa and are drawing the parallels of the rise of racism in the two countries. In New York last month, a predominantly Black demonstration of 15,000 people marched to the United Nations against apartheid. On the West Coast, longshore workers led by Black people are refusing to unload South African cargo. Oppression faced by Black people in the U.S. is domestic colonialism, as integral to the "American way of life" as passbooks and beatings are to South Africa. The leaflet mentions the National Security Council, imperialism, and self-defense.
