Leaflet advertising a slide show and discussion at Women's Works on September 14, led by Silvia Baraldini. She is a member of May 19th Communist Organization, who was invited to Zimbabwe by ZANU as a part of a delegation from the U.S. Black Liberation struggle and anti-imperialist movement. The leaflet says Zimbabwe entered the United Nations on August 25, 1980. Since independence, under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Mugabe's government and ZANU(PF), national reconstruction has become the key task. For Zimbabwean women, tens of thousands of whom participated in People's War, this means the full commitment of the government and the people toward the full integration of women in the life of the country. The leaflet promotes the National Campaign in Solidarity with the ZANU Women's League as an expression of solidarity to aid reconstruction. This campaign is a coalition of groups and individuals that is raising $15,000. The leaflet says like the women of Zimbabwe, Black and Third World women in the U.S., such as Assata Shakur, are leaders in their liberation struggle against heightening genocide and oppression. The leaflet mentions the white settler regime, British and U.S. imperialism, colonial domination, free elections, democratic rights, the slogan "liberation through participation," Park Slope, and the Ku Klux Klan.
