Leaflet asking people to submit art works for shows around the Bay Area to raise funds for the liberation movements of Southern Africa, through the United Nations Centre Against Apartheid. Exhibitions will be at the Western Addition Cultural Center, Diego Rivera Gallery, Heller Gallery, Mission Cultural Center, Soft Tough Gallery, and Co-Lab Gallery. An AFRICA FESTIVAL CALENDAR shows a month of speakers, films, plays, and poetry. The leaflet says U.S. government and corporate involvement props up the system of apartheid. Support for the South African government has increased under the Reagan administration, with its "constructive engagement" policy. On June 16, 1976 Soweto school children took to the streets to demonstrate against apartheid. In 1983, there were more strikes than ever before in the history of South Africa. Within the past six months, resistance inside South Africa has inspired a growth in the U.S. anti-apartheid movement. The leaflet mentions UC Berkeley (University of California, Berkeley), San Francisco, and pass laws.
